First Rubber EFB-108 is a highly efficient wear-resistant additive (wear-resistant coating) specifically designed for EVA foaming compounds. Based on trimethoxy gamma-glycidoxypropylsilicone chemistry with an EVA carrier, it is optimized for the polymer matrix. This product significantly enhances abrasion resistance and tear strength, while also improving the reinforcing efficiency of fillers such as silica and calcium carbonate. Unlike traditional liquid silicone oil additives, EFB-108, as a EVA-based masterbatch, does not migrate or exude on the product surface, maintaining a clean, tack-free finish. It is compatible with EVA and EVA blends with other rubbers, making it ideal for high-performance foamed products. Recommended dosage: 2.5-4.0 phr.

  • Product Description
  • Anyone who makes EVA foam soles knows that abrasion resistance is a non‑negotiable spec. Exceed the DIN wear limit, and your customer rejects the batch. The traditional approach is to add powder wear‑resistant agents, but they disperse poorly, tend to agglomerate, and sometimes even mess up the expansion ratio. EFB-108 takes a different route — using a silicone‑based active ingredient pre‑dispersed in an EVA carrier as granules.

Its chemical structure is trimethoxy gamma‑glycidoxypropylsilicone. During mixing, this molecule builds a bridge between inorganic fillers (silica, calcium carbonate) and the EVA matrix. It improves filler reinforcement, and as a result, significantly boosts abrasion resistance and tear strength.

Unlike liquid silicone oils, EFB-108 is a solid granule. It does not migrate to the product surface, so your soles stay dry and clean — no oiliness, no stickiness, no blooming. It is also dust‑free during handling, easy to weigh, and compatible with automated feeding lines.

Typical dosage is 2–5 phr, with 2.5–4.0 phr as a common starting point. Used in sports shoe midsoles/outsoles, yoga mats, and sports equipment, EFB-108 can reduce DIN wear values from 380 mm³ down to below 200 mm³, while keeping a uniform cell structure and a dry, pleasant hand feel.

EFB-108 is stable at both high and low temperatures — no seasonal performance loss. It works well in EVA and in EVA/rubber blended foaming systems.

If abrasion complaints have been a headache, or if you want to extend sole life without sacrificing surface feel, EFB-108 is a straightforward solution.
