First Rubber MBTS(DM) is a general-purpose thiazole accelerator, chemically known as dibenzothiazole disulfide or 2,2'-dithiobis(benzothiazole). It provides a medium-fast cure rate with excellent processing safety and non-staining characteristics. MBTS is compatible with natural rubber (NR) and most synthetic rubbers including SBR, BR, NBR, and EPDM. It can be used alone or synergistically with aldehyde amines, thiurams, dithiocarbamates, and guanidines to increase cure rates. It also functions as a retarder and plasticizer in polychloroprene (CR) compounds. Recommended dosage: 0.5-2.0 phr.
Product Categories: Accelerator Thiazole accelerators
  • Chemical composition: Dibenzothiazole dithide
  • Complex carrier: EPDM/SBR
  • Characteristics: A general-purpose accelerator for natural rubber, synthetic rubber, and reclaimed rubber—offers excellent flatness, moderate vulcanization speed, a relatively high critical vulcanization temperature, significant post-cure effects, prevents premature curing, and ensures safe handling.

  • Product Description
  • Powder sulfur blooms; powdered accelerators create dust. MBTS-75 is designed specifically to "completely improve workshop operation environment".

MBTS-75 is a general-purpose quasi-ultrafast accelerator, chemically known as dibenzothiazyl disulfide (DM), with 75% active content, made into masterbatches using a polymeric binder with an EPDM carrier.

Compared to powder MBTS, the most significant difference is the operating environment. No more dust flying around, no sticky powder sticking to your hands, less irritation to your nose and throat. The Mooney viscosity is lower at low temperatures, resulting in faster uptake, uniform dispersion from the start of mixing, and no impurities clogging the filter screens. The granules stay dry and non-tacky at room temperature, making them ideal for automated feeding systems.

It retains the classic thiazole characteristics: good vulcanization flatness, significant aftereffect, low risk of early scorch, high processing safety, and is non-staining and non-discoloring. MBTS-75 works in natural and most synthetic rubbers. It can be used as the primary accelerator but is more often combined with thiurams or dithiocarbamates. In sulfur-modified CR, it is an effective anti-scorching agent.

Typical dosage: 0.5–2.0 phr as a primary accelerator, with 2–3 phr sulfur; 0.2–1.0 phr as a secondary accelerator. Also suitable for foam and low-hardness products.

If you produce tires, hoses, belts, shoe soles, or light‑colored rubber parts — and want to improve workplace safety and cure consistency — MBTS-75 is a straightforward choice.

    Typical reference data:
    - Active content: 75% dibenzothiazyl disulfide (MBTS/DM)
    - Appearance: Light yellow to beige granules
    - Density (g/cm³): approx. 1.27–1.32
    - Mooney viscosity ML(1+4)@50°C: ≤60
    - Recommended dosage: 0.2–3.0 phr (typical 0.5–2.0 phr)
    - Packaging: 25 kg carton with inner PE liner
    - Storage stability: 24 months in unopened packaging below 25°C, dry
