Keywords:
- Chemical composition: Bis-(triethoxypropyl) tetrasulfide
- Complex carrier: EPDM/SBR
- Characteristics: Multifunctional silane coupling agents for natural and synthetic rubber. These agents enhance the reinforcing properties of fillers, including white carbon black and light-colored fillers, improve compatibility between fillers and rubber, and boost the degree of rubber crosslinking, resulting in higher elastic modulus and tensile strength. They also significantly improve the abrasion resistance and compression set performance of rubber while reducing both rubber viscosity and energy consumption. Additionally, they prevent scorching during vulcanization, ensuring that rubber products exhibit excellent heat aging resistance.

When the industry talks about high-performance tires, the term “green tire” is never far away. But the real enabler that makes silica a true alternative to carbon black is a critical “molecular bridge” — the silane coupling agent. The chemical composition of SI-69-50E is Bis-(triethoxypropyl) tetrasulfide, commonly known as TESPT or Si69.
Silica is a polar inorganic material, while rubber is a non-polar organic polymer — they are inherently incompatible. During mixing, this is like mixing water and oil: silica particles tend to agglomerate, dispersion is poor, reinforcing efficiency drops, and the compound becomes very sticky. SI69-50E solves this compatibility issue. Its silane end chemically bonds to the silica during mixing, while its sulfur-containing polysulfide chain reacts with the rubber polymer during vulcanization. This creates a strong covalent bridge between the filler and the matrix, locking them together.
The performance benefits are tangible. Better filler dispersion and coupling lead to higher crosslink density and elastic modulus. This translates to improved tensile and tear strength, with a particularly significant enhancement in abrasion resistance. Furthermore, by disrupting the filler-filler network, the “molecular bridge” lowers the compound's viscosity, saving energy during processing. Finally, because the filler-rubber bond is strong and it helps prevent the breaking of sulfur bonds (reversion), the final rubber product retains its properties better under high and low temperatures, offering good heat-aging resistance.
SI69-50E is supplied as granules (pre-dispersed masterbatch) on an EPDM/SBR carrier. Compared to traditional liquid silanes, the key advantages are a dust- and odor-free workshop, no risk of deactivation by moisture, and more accurate and convenient weighing
Application:SI69-50E is naturally suited for high-performance radial tires, tread compounds, conveyor belts, rollers, and any high-end application like rubber soles where silica or light-colored fillers are used for reinforcement. It doesn't promise to solve every problem, but it is a core component for building a high-performance, efficient rubber formulation. For precise dosage and process optimization, we recommend benchmarking tests based on your specific compound
