TPM is a tea polyphenol based multifunctional rubber additive developed through Mannich reaction. It combines antioxidant and accelerator functions in one product, offering superior protection against oxygen, heat, and ozone aging while improving crosslinking efficiency in SSBR and natural rubber compounds. Non‑staining and non‑discoloring, TPM is ideal for light‑colored and high‑performance rubber goods including tires, shoe soles, and technical rubber parts.
Product Categories: Antioxidant
  • Chemical composition: Combination of mercaptobenzimidazole with diphenylamine derivatives
  • Complex carrier: EPDM
  • Characteristics: This product serves as an antioxidant for natural rubber and diene-based synthetic rubbers, offering effective protection against oxygen, weathering, and static aging. It also provides robust defense against copper-induced degradation and helps mitigate the adverse effects caused by over-sulfurization during the vulcanization process of rubber products. The product can be used alone or in combination with other anti-aging agents—particularly when paired with TPC, it delivers excellent antioxidant, ozone-resistant, and anti-blooming performance. Additionally, it disperses easily, retains its color under sunlight, and is free from any staining or environmental contamination.

  • Product Description
  •
For decades, rubber antioxidants were almost exclusively petroleum‑based. But now European customers are starting to ask for bio‑based alternatives — not because it is trendy, but because their downstream brands are pushing sustainable sourcing policies.

TPM is made from tea polyphenols, extracted from tea leaves — renewable and biodegradable. This is not a marketing concept; it actually works as both an antioxidant and an accelerator.

In SSBR compounds, TPM does something unusual. It extends scorch time while increasing crosslink density — meaning after curing, you get higher tensile strength and tear strength compared to conventional antioxidant systems. It also retains accelerator functionality, so you can simplify your formulation.

Another practical advantage: non‑staining and non‑discoloring. TPM does not bloom or turn yellow under sunlight, even in light‑coloured or transparent rubber goods. When used together with TPC, it also improves ozone resistance and anti‑blooming performance.

If your customers require REACH compliance, or if you export to the EU, TPM is a sustainable option worth keeping on your radar.
