What is the worst enemy of white or light‑coloured rubber goods? Yellowing. Sunlight yellowing, heat‑ageing yellowing, or yellowing caused by the formulation itself. For European exports — shoe soles, seals, toys — yellowing means rejection. MAC-1489 is an accelerator designed specifically for anti‑yellowing performance. It is not a conventional accelerator. It is a high‑efficiency anti‑yellowing accelerator masterbatch on an EPDM carrier. In white, light‑coloured, or coloured rubber compounds, it delivers yellowing resistance grades of 4.0–5.0 — provided the other ingredients in the formulation are stable. Cure speed is moderate, and scorch safety is much better than typical anti‑yellowing accelerators. Mixed compounds can sit at room temperature for 3–5 days without urgent moulding — a real advantage for moulding and extrusion shops. Abrasion resistance, tensile strength, and tear strength are comparable to conventional accelerator systems, so you do not sacrifice mechanical properties for colour stability. MAC-1489 is non‑staining and non‑discoloring. It can be used together with thiurams (TS/TT) or dithiocarbamates to speed up curing if needed. Typical dosage is 1.0–3.0 phr, with 0.5–2.5 phr sulphur.
