First Rubber MAC-1489 is widely used as a specialized anti-yellowing accelerator across the rubber industry. It is compatible with natural rubber (NR) and most synthetic rubbers, including SBR, BR, NBR, and EPDM. Typical applications include:

- White & Light-Colored Shoe Soles: This is the primary application area. MAC-1489 delivers exceptional yellowing resistance, ensuring that white and light-colored shoe soles maintain their original brightness and hue even after extended exposure to light, heat, and environmental factors.

- Light-Colored Rubber Products: Toys, sports equipment, light-colored industrial rubber parts, and consumer goods where color stability is critical to product quality.

- Colored Footwear Components: Helps maintain the vibrancy of colored rubber compounds, preventing dulling and yellowing over time.

- Technical Rubber Goods: Seals, gaskets, and other molded components requiring both good mechanical properties and consistent color appearance.

- EVA Compounds: Compatible with EVA formulations where yellowing resistance is required, particularly in light-colored EVA foam products.

1. Outstanding Yellowing Resistance – MAC-1489 provides exceptional resistance to yellowing, achieving grades 4.0 to 5.0 under stable conditions with other formulation ingredients. This ensures that white and light-colored rubber products maintain their original appearance and color stability over prolonged service life. Traditional accelerator systems often lead to noticeable yellowing within weeks of light/heat exposure; MAC-1489 significantly slows this process, preserving the product's marketability and brand image.

2. Extended Scorch Safety – A common issue with conventional yellowing-resistant accelerators is short scorch times, limiting processing windows and increasing scrap risk. MAC-1489 overcomes this limitation with excellent scorch resistance, allowing compounded rubber to remain stable at room temperature for 3-5 days. This extended processing safety provides greater production flexibility, reduces waste from premature curing, and enables bulk mixing without immediate molding.

3. Moderate Vulcanization Speed with Good Mechanical Properties – MAC-1489 delivers a moderate cure speed, providing a balanced processing window. More importantly, vulcanizates exhibit wear resistance, tensile strength, and tear resistance fully comparable to those achieved with standard accelerator systems. This means customers do not have to sacrifice mechanical performance to achieve superior yellowing resistance.

4. Non-Staining & Non-Discoloring – MAC-1489 does not cause staining or discoloration. It keeps rubber product surfaces free from bloom, stain, or color shift, which is critical for consumer-facing goods where visual appearance directly influences purchasing decisions and brand perception. This is particularly important for white and light-colored shoe soles where any discoloration is immediately noticeable.

5. Good Compatibility – MAC-1489 is compatible with NR, SBR, BR, NBR, and EPDM, as well as EVA compounds. It can be used as the primary accelerator alone or synergistically with thiurams (TS/TT), dithiocarbamates (ZDBC, ZDEC), and other accelerators to further adjust cure speed when required.

6. Easy Dispersion – The EPDM masterbatch form ensures uniform distribution throughout the rubber compound, preventing localized accelerator concentrations that can lead to uneven curing or surface defects. This leads to consistent product quality batch after batch.

7. Pre-Dispersed Masterbatch Form – As a pre-dispersed masterbatch on EPDM carrier, MAC-1489 is supplied as free-flowing granules. This eliminates the dust and handling difficulties associated with powder accelerators, improves workplace safety, reduces material waste, and is compatible with automated weighing systems.

8. Long Storage Stability – Properly stored in original sealed packaging under recommended conditions, MAC-1489 remains stable for 12 months, maintaining consistent activity and performance throughout its shelf life.

三、Packaging & Storage：

Packaging
Supplied in 25 kg multi-wall cartons or paper bags (plastic woven bags, paper with plastic film, or kraft paper bags) with inner PE liner, suitable for manual or automatic handling. Also available in jumbo bags for bulk orders upon request.

Storage & Handling
Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight, moisture, and heat sources. Keep packaging sealed when not in use. Under recommended storage conditions (below 30°C, <70% relative humidity), the product remains stable for 12 months from the date of manufacture. Avoid contact with strong oxidizers, acids, and nitrosating agents.

Safety Note
As a pre-dispersed EPDM masterbatch in granule form, MAC-1489 has significantly reduced dust compared to powder accelerator blends. However, standard industrial hygiene practices should still be observed. Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) is available upon request.
