TMTM-80 can extremely accelerate vulcanization rate of natural and synthetic rubber and has good anti-scorching safety. Its critical temperature is about 121 °C and vulcanization activity is about 10 % lower than that of TMTD.TMTM-80 can be used alone and its activity could be increased by accelerators of aldehyde-amines and guanidines. TMTM-80 is also commonly used as a secondary accelerator for sulfenamides and thiazoles. It also applicable as an anti-scorching retarder of non-sulfonated CR.
